Stephanie Weiss

Artist

My name is Stephanie Weiss, and I’m a self-taught artist and graphic designer based in Lenexa, Kansas. I’ve often been told I see the world through rose-colored glasses—though I prefer to think of it as seeing through magical eyes.

My artwork celebrates the way I see things: the beauty and mystery of the natural world, where animals, plants, and celestial elements come together in soft, dreamlike harmony. Everything is full of meaning for someone like myself and I’m endlessly inspired by the quiet moments in nature that feel touched by something unseen. More often than not, I’m inspired by the surprising variety of critters that visit my suburban backyard and wondering how, and why, our paths have crossed.

Through my art, I hope to capture that sense of wonder—the gentle magic that shimmers beneath ordinary life—and invite others to see the world a little more softly, and maybe, a little more magically.

My work is a blend of mediums, mainly watercolor and ink. Beginning each piece with gentle pencil sketches, I then layer with translucent washes of color. Once the paint has dried, I refine each piece with intricate pen details to bring texture and depth to every creature and bloom.

Each painting is an invitation to pause, look closer, and rediscover the quiet magic woven through the world around us.
