Stephanie Fox (formerly Stephanie Weiss)
Artist
Hi there. I'm Stephanie Fox, a self-taught artist and graphic designer in Lenexa, Kansas. If you recognize me or my work, but not my name, that makes sense! I recently got married and change my name. Formerly Stephanie Weiss, I am now legally Stephanie Fox-Ostrom, a combo of my maiden name and my new married name. I’m going to keep it simple here in my art world though and just go by Stephanie Fox. Let’s face it, it’s kinda on brand (If you haven’t checked out my work yet, I paint a lot of foxes in part because I find them inspiring, but also as an homage to my family.) Going by Stephanie Fox also feels like a return to myself that I didn’t know I needed.
I've often been told I see the world through rose-colored glasses. Yes, AND? I like my view, thank you very much! I have a different take on it and prefer to think of it as seeing the world with my lenses washed clean, without the harsh filter we call ‘reality.’
My artwork reflects the way I see the world: a place filled with wonder, mystery, and quiet magic. I'm endlessly inspired by nature, from the curious little critters that visit my suburban backyard to the fleeting moments that make me wonder about the meaning woven into the everyday.
Working in a mixed media of watercolor, colored pencil, and various inks and paint pens, I bring together flowing washes of color and intricate linework to create whimsical, dreamlike worlds where animals, plants, and celestial wonders intertwine.
Through my art, I hope to capture a little of the magic I see and invite you to pause, look closer, and discover the extraordinary hidden within the ordinary.
Being an artist is a tremendous blessing for me, so thank you for visiting my world. I hope you like it here.
Stephanie
